Coros Pace straps and accessories – all models

Coros Pace is the market leader when it comes to the balance between extremely low weight and powerful performance. To maintain the watch’s unobtrusive feel on the wrist, the choice of strap is absolutely crucial. As the Pace series is aimed at runners and triathletes who train at high intensity, the watch must sit completely flush against the skin for the optical heart rate sensor to record accurate readings. A strap that’s too loose risks picking up your stride frequency instead of your heartbeats.

Nylon or Silicone: Choosing the right material for runners and triathletes

For track runners, road runners and marathon runners, the nylon strap with Velcro is the ultimate solution. It is up to 50% lighter than a standard silicone strap and allows for stepless adjustment. This means you can adjust the fit precisely whilst running without being restricted by fixed holes, ensuring maximum breathability and preventing the watch from bouncing.

For those who swim regularly, compete in triathlons or train in muddy conditions, we recommend a perforated silicone strap. Nylon absorbs water and can cool your wrist during the cycling leg after a swim, whilst silicone repels moisture straight away. Silicone is also incredibly easy to rinse off after a sweaty indoor session on the treadmill or bike trainer.

Screen protectors and extra chargers for the Pace series

As Pace watches have a slim and lightweight case, usually made of polymer, they’re comfortable to wear round the clock. If you use the watch during obstacle course races, OCR events or at the gym with lots of free weights, then a model-specific case and a screen protector are highly recommended. They add hardly any weight but protect the glass from immediate cracking. Don’t forget to order an extra charging cable for your training bag either – the Coros Pace has an impressive battery life, but having an extra charger to hand on race day minimises the risk of the battery running out unexpectedly.

Frequently asked questions about Coros Pace straps

What strap width fits my Coros Pace?

It depends entirely on which generation you’re using. The Coros Pace 2 uses a standard width of 20 mm, whilst the newer Coros Pace 3 and Pace Pro use 22 mm-wide straps. To be absolutely sure of getting the right fit, navigate to your specific watch model in our menu above before making your choice.

Are the nylon straps softer than the original silicone straps?

Yes, woven nylon straps mould much more quickly to the specific contours of your wrist compared to silicone. As the material lies flat and allows air to circulate, many users with sensitive skin find that redness and irritation (which can occur when wearing silicone around the clock) disappear when they switch to a nylon strap.

Does the watch strap affect the heart rate measurement on my Coros Pace?

Absolutely. The optical heart rate monitor requires uninterrupted skin contact to shine through the tissue and read blood flow. If you’re using a strap that’s too loose during rapid arm movements – common during sprinting or poling, for example – the sensor will detect motion blur. A nylon strap minimises this risk thanks to its stepless Velcro adjustment.

Can I shower with the nylon strap on after my run?

The watch itself is waterproof, and the nylon strap can certainly be washed. However, the fabric will remain damp for a while afterwards, unlike a silicone strap, which can be dried with a towel in a second. For maximum lifespan and hygiene, we recommend that you remove the nylon strap, rinse it in lukewarm water with a little soap, and leave it to air-dry.
