WHOOP 5.0 straps and accessories
WHOOP has quickly made a name for itself with its discreet, simple yet insightful fitness trackers. As they lack a screen that might distract you, these devices focus on pure, insightful analysis and information about your health and wellbeing – and the same applies to their latest version, WHOOP 5.0.
On this page, you’ll find a range of straps for your fitness tracker in various materials. Choose from options in sporty silicone or comfortable fabric. As well as products in different materials, all our straps are also available in a variety of colours and styles, so you can find something to suit your style.
New replacement straps for your WHOOP 5.0
By changing the strap on your WHOOP, you can better adapt it to your needs and how you’re currently using it. As the 5.0 is designed to be worn around the clock, we offer two different options to replace your original strap:
- Nylon straps: Designed for comfort and a secure fit. These are ideal for both training and rest, but are particularly popular among users who sleep with their WHOOP on their wrist.
- Silicone straps: Durable and flexible. The silicone is both strong and pliable, making it perfect for training – whether high-intensity or endurance workouts.
→ Tip! A new strap can also be used for styling! If you don’t like – or have grown tired of – the strap that came with your fitness tracker, a replacement strap can liven things up and make it feel new and fresh again.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my WHOOP 4.0 strap for the 5.0?
The short answer is: no. Although it would have been nice to be able to reuse your old strap, the 5.0 has a redesigned, slimmer sensor construction and a modified attachment system that differs from the 4.0.
All our 5.0 replacement straps are specifically designed with the updated U-shaped connector unique to the 5.0 hardware. This ensures a distinct ‘click’ when it snaps into place, preventing the sensor from slipping or coming loose during movement or sleep.
How often should I replace my WHOOP strap?
To ensure optimal performance and data quality, we recommend replacing the strap for your WHOOP 5.0 every 12 months. However, if you train a lot and expose the strap to salt water, high humidity or environments where you sweat heavily, you may need to replace it with a new strap every 6 or 8 months.
The most important thing, however, is that your strap feels comfortable. Check it regularly and make sure to get a new one if the one you’re using becomes worn or starts to come loose. For hygiene reasons, it may also be a good idea to start looking for a new one if your current strap starts to smell bad and the odour doesn’t go away even after washing.
How do I change my WHOOP strap?
Replacing your strap is quick and easy thanks to the Fast-Link™ mechanism. Follow these four steps to ensure a secure fit and uninterrupted data collection:
- Open the clasp. Unfasten the large metal clasp on the top of your wrist. Once open, pull the strap completely off your wrist so you can handle the sensor freely.
- Release the Fast-Link™ hook. Locate the small U-shaped plastic hook where the strap meets the sensor. Press firmly down on the top of the hook and pull it sideways out of the sensor’s mounting channel. It should slide out in one smooth motion – without you having to pry it hard.
- Thread on the new strap. Take your new replacement wristband and thread its end without the hook through the opening in the metal clasp.
- Click and lock. Slide the Fast-Link™ hook on the new wristband into the sensor’s side channel until you hear or feel a clear “click”. This “click” confirms that the sensor is locked and will not move during your workout.
→ Pro tip for a perfect fit: When putting the device back on, the sensor should be positioned approximately two finger-widths above the wrist bone. This is the “perfect spot” for the 5.0’s sensors to get the most accurate heart rate and blood oxygen readings.
