Suunto Run straps and accessories
Suunto Run has redefined the concept of ‘feather-light’ for road runners and endurance athletes. However, the performance of a top-class GPS watch is only as good as its fit on the wrist. A loose or poorly fitting strap can cause ‘optical noise’ in heart rate readings, whilst a heavy strap can negate the watch’s minimal weight advantage.
Choosing the right Suunto Run strap
When choosing a replacement strap for your Suunto Run, you should consider your primary form of training:
- Nylon straps: Best for competition and high-intensity interval training (HIIT). These are our lightest options and offer micro-adjustability to ensure the dual sensors sit perfectly against the skin without the weight of a traditional buckle.
- Ventilated silicone: The gold standard for 24/7 wear and swimming. Our silicone straps for the Suunto Run are designed with a soft, ventilated surface to prevent the ‘strap rash’ often associated with sweat build-up.
- Classic leather and metal: For those who go from the running track to the office, our 22 mm quick-release leather straps maintain the Suunto Run’s sleek profile whilst adding a touch of professional elegance.
Universal compatibility and design
Every strap in our collection features a high-quality 22mm quick-release system. This means you can change your style in seconds without tools. Although specially designed for the Suunto Run, these straps are also compatible with the Suunto 5 Peak, Suunto 9 Peak and Suunto Race series, offering a versatile solution for Suunto enthusiasts.

Frequently asked questions
What size is the strap for Suunto Run?
The Suunto Run has a 22mm wide strap with a standard quick-release mechanism. This is the industry-standard size for Suunto’s lightweight performance series, making it easy to change straps without special tools.
How do I change the strap on my Suunto Run?
Changing the strap is easy:
- Push the small spring bar lever on the underside of the strap inwards.
- Pull the strap away from the watch body.
- To attach a new strap, insert one end of the pin into the fastener, pull the lever back and click the other side into place. Always pull gently on the strap to ensure it is securely fastened.
Are Suunto Run straps compatible with other Suunto watches?
Yes. As the Suunto Run uses the universal 22 mm quick-release standard, these straps are also compatible with the Suunto 5 Peak, Suunto 9 Peak, Suunto 9 Peak Pro, Suunto Vertical and Suunto Race.
Which strap is best for marathon running?
For long-distance road running, we recommend a nylon strap. Its light weight complements the Suunto Run’s 36g chassis, and the ‘endless’ adjustability of the clasp ensures the heart rate monitor remains perfectly positioned as your wrist circumference changes slightly during a long run.
How do I clean my Suunto Run silicone strap?
To prevent odours and skin irritation, rinse the silicone strap with clean water after every training session. For a more thorough clean, you can use a mild, soap-free detergent. Make sure the strap is completely dry before putting it back on.
